I’ve been thinking about making one of these for awhile. This first section is how I think indie teams and practice groups should interact with their coach.
- 24 hour notice for making any changes / cancellations. If you’re cancelling day of, you and your team owe your coach their standard fee.
- 2…
Groups should also not feel weird about asking for a coach’s rate. I don’t know why people don’t always do that. It’s not cool to your teammates to not do that, and a coach shouldn’t feel weird telling you because … they have to tell you.

Every cool thing I ever did on the drums was lifted consciously or subconsciously from this song, and then slowed down by 50%. Also, perfect song?

We unite with Brad Temple to use the power of our black thick-rimmed glasses for good, NOT evil. We promise. Also we scoot around:
How to Clean an Animal or Human Bite, New Purchases, Barnes & Noble Cafe Employees Will Bite You, Naked Threats, RA The Sneaker Pusher, A Very Fancy DSW,…
Learn about when I was bitten by a non-zombie adult human! (Zombie stories for another episode.)
And also learn about Riham the horse!

Can someone make a web comic about the anxiety I get when I have to cancel everything because I’m sick? I need to reblog these feelings.

The Shivering Brigade records an EP!: Day Three.
Midnite and Zeee, waiting to listen to a rough mix.
More recording happened today, but I couldn’t be there. We finished all our tracking! Now it’s time to listen to mixes forever!

The Shivering Brigade records an EP!: Day Two.
Midnite, Jonny Zeee, and Kolker listening to a take. Nicola Nonesuch, Ward, and Good, discussing a thing.
Overdubs. I’m not really involved, so I was late and left early, so I missed some stuff. But hey, I told you there would be some Zeee and Nonesuch, and here they are! Also, we did gang vocals, with THREE TIMES as many bald people as your usual gang vocals.
Will I be at Day Three? Who knows?!

The Shivering Brigade records an EP!: Day One.
My drum room, a dirty snack table where we listened to takes, the view from behind the kit (featuring the Rev. Johnny Midnite), my neighbor Danielle Ward in the saw booth, the hardest working microphone in show business, Jon Good (at the trumpet), and Danielle “Swag” Kolker!
Not pictured (because I couldn’t see them while recording): Jonny Zeee & Nicola Nonesuch. They’ll be here tomorrow, DON’T WORRY!

The most boring part of every practice is the post-practice meeting. But man … we look cool when we’re bored.
